Read news article-Narora in high-risk category by Charu Sudan Kasturi HT dated 23April 2011. It was pathetic to see the Japan Tsunami on the TV. Genuine fears arose after Chernobyl accident in Russia. There was apprehension and fears in the mind of people after The Fukushima disaster. Equally disturbing but similar is the state of affairs regarding Narora atomic power plant in Bulandshahar district of UP in NCR region. Fortunately or unfortunately we stay within the 30 km radius of the NAPP .Time and again news regarding the safety vis-à-vis NAPP are published in various dailies. The high risk zone of radiation raises fears in the mind of people settled in this zone .The common man is unaware of any safety measure to be taken in case of such emergency. NAPP is the Fourth high risk plant in the world. The news and reports by HT confirms such nightmares of risk projected. Through HT we seek enlightenment and correct emergency measures to be taken and observed in such situation. How common people in core area should meet such crises? Scientists might do their best in such situation but certain steps and co operation is expected from people like us who live in the core area of NAPP.
Awareness and knowledge for such state is inevitable. Though we pray to almighty that such horrible incidents never occur anywhere in the world.
